Hi Marta. Would lace that you buy by the yard work as well? Or crochet lace by the yard?

Hi Glo1949! I think you could do it! Crochet lace seems perfect to me!

Do you put any stitches in the blocks that keep the layers together and flat? I would be afraid the blocks would end up looking lumpy without it....

Brilliant, my carpal tunnel stopped my crocheting so you just gave me the idea how to proceed. I have a huge roll of the exact lace pictured but a sea foamish green.

My only concern would be the raw edges of the blocks. Wouldn't it be better to birth them each individually, then crochet together? Or doesn't it matter? How does it wash up?

I don't think they are raw edges. They look turned under. I sure would, especially with flannel, but that is just my thought.

Thank you sewbizgirl, english isn't my first lenguage, and you explained it spot on!

The stitch she uses around the edge is the blanket stitch, but she has them spaced a bit, to crochet on.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I only just found it via Pinterest. As someone who crochets and quilts, I can really appreciate learning the technique. As an aside, I bought something very similar overseas more than a year ago, but only single layers of fabric, not layered like a quilt.

I love this idea. I have a bunch of batting squares cut from leftover batting. Was planning on using them for a rag quilt, but I think I want to do this instead. Those rag quilts are fun to make, but kind of a "pain"! This is my next project for sure! Thanks for sending the instructions and pictures!

Hi, tron80. What sort of yarn did you use? It looks mercerized, which I want!

Hi Eurelisse, I used Perle Cotton Cones, Crochet Thread size 8 and the hook around 2.5 or 3.
