Thank you as so many others have for this wonderful tut on needle turn appliqué. I am motivated to give appliqué a try and now I have my how to to reference as I work on a cute wall hanging I purchased quite awhile ago. Sharing what you learned is a gift that will keep on giving.
By the way, we don't live too far from each other.

Just like the others I want to say thank you for this tute. Your drawing of how to actually insert the needle in the fold and how to tack the applique to the back was wonderful for me since I seem to have to most trouble in this process.

Interesting...and maybe this is just semantics, but I thought needle turn applique involves no prep work, starch etc. I do it with just the fabric and a needle, turning it under as I go. I actually prefer the starch method applique like you posted.

SuzyQ 04-30-2012 12:08 PM

Thanks!!!

What a lot of time and effort must have gone into your wonderful tutorial. Thank you so much for your dedication and generosity!

bearisgray 06-07-2012 06:08 AM

Nicely done tutorial. Love your illustrations.

As with most things quilty, there is more than one way to accomplish something. I think it's better to illustrate one way well - much less confusing to me then.
