Just started today quilting my 2nd ever quilt to make. Decided to quilt it on the sewing machine instead of by hand. This would be perfect if only I had room for it. Right now I am set up in the Great Room on a table with chairs around. Your idea is terrific and if I keep going on this, I will have to get some pvc. |
This is such a great idea for quilting larger quilts on a domestic machine. I also like the fact that it can be easily dismantle and that it is not that expensive ..... and it actually works!!! Love it and thanks for the posting.

Thanks. I showed the picture to DH and that started his thinking wheels to make one. Since I don't have the space I told him not to proceed, but now that I know it doesn't have to be glued!!! New story.
DH used to install pvc pipe in his line of work so his mind is glued (pun intended) :o to how he did it then. Super idea. Many blessings to the QBoard ladies. |

I have been trying to use the cage for everything I do on machine. Well some things are not as easy as others. Have had all kinds of tents, etc. but will keep trying. I know it works on embroidery, but I want it all. Thanks for all the comments. Kate

This is a brilliant idea. I just looked at the Jennoop's website and noticed that one has a single overhead bar with just two clamps. I'm curious what decided you on a U-shaped device with three overhead bars and more clamps? Do you feel you get better control that way than if you only used two clamps? At any rate, kudos for a job well done.
