thanks much for this! wanted to try before, but will see when this lovely tutorial is done, if I can simplify it a bit. saw one once that was vertical strips, all in blues, batik/Asian. just lovely but did not have time to ask about it.

You can tweak this tute to fit your sewing. That's pretty much how I did this one. I tweaked it from the pattern.

DawnMarie, I have seen patterns where the sweatshirt is lined, but don't recall if the sweatshirt pieces were used as the lining pattern or if a separate one was provided. When I do get around to making one for myself, I'm thinking I'll use the sweatshirt pieces as the lining pattern before I begin adding fabric to the shirt itself.
