Yes, lay the strips right sides together, sew 1/4 inch, then flip and iron.

Look forward to sewing it back together. Now I wonder what colors to do it. What is everyone else thinking? I like to do something like this, but I want it to look good when I am done. Will have to start digging through my 'saved' fabric.
