Oh I'm so glad that this thread is still going on! I've been away from the board for quite a while obsessing about Dear Jane on my blog. quiltergirl & dsb, have a great time with it and wendiq, thanks for responding about the selvages.
I have stripped my yardage bare of selvages and put the word out to an online group. I just received a giant envelope FULL of them not long ago and have bits arriving from friends and relatives from time to time, too. People are happy to save them for a quilter who will put them to use. There is an author, Karen Griska who has been using them for sometime. I found her website through another board member after my tutorial appeared here. She was very kind when I contacted her and said my method is different than hers...do take the time to check out her book and/or site for more inspiration. Quilters send her pictures of their work and she posts those, too. Careful about starting selvages...once you dig in, you'll never look at fabric the same way again! =) Happy Quilting!
