Thanks, Jan. I'm working on a quilt now that is set on point.

Thanks Jan! I love doing “on point” quilts. I am working on Pam Buda’s 1800 quilt now.

Thank you Jan! I am embroidering blocks now that will be placed on point. I always seem to mess that up. Your diagram and tutorial is perfect.

Thanks very much for this tutorial. I wish I had had this tutorial when I did my first on-point quilt...what a nightmare that was. With your great tutorial, I feel any future on-point quilts will go much more smoothly. Thanks again.

crzypatcher 04-15-2019 05:12 PM

Thank you!

zozee 04-15-2019 05:54 PM

Your instructions and diagrams are always, shall we say, "on point." (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

I think I might be setting my current quilt on point. It'd be a first for me, and I needed a really clear tutorial like this to give me confidence to try, Thanks so much.

This is great! Thank you. One question though. Is there a way to save this?

Minnesewta-sam 10-27-2019 05:31 AM

Good info on corner squares. Thanks Jan!

granky 10-27-2019 04:05 PM

I know you have lots of 'thank you's' but I'm adding one more! This really helps. Thanks again! (Like osewme, I'm copying and pasting to save so I'll have it handy!)

KurmanQuilter 01-11-2020 08:21 PM

Thank you so much for this !

maviskw 01-12-2020 06:35 AM

Thanks so much, Jan. It's nice to see the measurements and the reason why we cut four side triangles from a square and just two corner triangles from different size squares.

juliasb 01-12-2020 08:22 AM

Great tutorial! I copied and saved this for future references. I am sure to use this as a teaching aide along the way. I have done a number of quilts on point and this describes the process to a tee. Thanks again.

TheMerkleFamily 01-12-2020 08:49 AM

Another "Thank you" for your wonderful tutorial! As said already, it's helpful to understand the reason and math behind the measurement/cuts. So very helpful and greatly appreciated!

I am delighted this tutorial is still helping Board members! I've always believed quilts set on point were "a step up" in appearance and skill level, yet they can be so easy when one knows the little tricks. Happy to share!

Minnesewta-sam 04-01-2020 04:56 AM

Thanks Jan. This will come in handy!

JENNR8R 02-17-2021 06:00 AM

I am setting my current quilt on point, and I couldn't remember for the life of me how to cut the setting triangles. I'm so grateful for you Jan and the "search" function to find this tutorial again! :)
