Yes, well - no, not really. Prairie points are 3-dimensional squares of fabric that are folded in half diagonally once and then a second time. Nested one inside another, they are sewn down with the raw edges either on the edge of a finished quilt or stitched into a seam in the body of a quilt. They are left free except for the raw edge that was sewn into the seam.

This Shark Tooth Border is a single length of fabric that is cit to the seam allowance and each cut edge is folded down. The entire strip is then appliqued to the background fabric of the border. If you go back to page 1 of this tute, you will see the strip as it is turned into a shark tooth border.

Is sharks tooth the same as prairie points?I made them by folding squares into triangles and by over lapping them found there was less math involved I did them on the outer edge as well as to frame an inner block. It allowed me to create a color design and different sizes of triangles to make layers of them.

No Pat 75 sharks tooth and prairie points are different.

Prairie points is a square folded into a triangle.
Sharks tooth is a piece of material cut as per the insturctions at the beginning of this topic.

The next part of this quilt is 20 more vlocks ina single row around the center, then another Shark Tooth Border, this time facing toward the inside, a large border and then anothe Shark Tooth Border to finish it all off

Wow it is looking great, I like the idea even more seeing the finished border and the colour is just perfect.
