Another post talked about a spider web quilt and I had to see if I could find a pattern. OMG this is gorgeous. And here is a cool tutorial. This one is 3rd in my queue:

http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/2010/04/...ock-sew-along/

I LOVE this quilt. It could be made from a collection or from scraps. I do like the white but orange is a cool background too. This doesn't look all that easy - but fun and gorgeous.

Thanks a bunch, I love spider web quilts, if I really kick it I could make one from halloween fabrics!!

Tartan 09-08-2011 11:05 AM

My ongoing scrap quilt is a Spiderweb pattern that I found the great picture instructions for on www.quiltville. It is done with foundation paper (I use old phonebook pages)and it is looking great. I only have about 200 more blocks to go to make it queensize.

Needed something with a couple of jelly rolls. Think this may foot the bill.

Snickers 09-08-2011 06:49 PM

Have you heard about the 1600 quilt? It is made from jelly rolls.
If you put this title into the line that you ask for it to search. They will forward a video or picture. It is fun and works up fast. You separate the jelly roll pieces into light and darks. Cut off 15 inches from the first piece only! Miter both ends of each piece one to another.Sew all pieces together alternating colors as much as you can. I made 2 piles and just took 1 from each until I had one very long straight piece of jello roll pieces sewed together.

Then I take the beginning piece and place the very end of the piece side by side and sew them together. When you get to the very end, cut it and sew to the end. Then take the end and bring it up to the top piece and sew the seams together again. You do this about 5 times until you have sewn all strips together. You finish with a neat quilt of strips and by mitering the pieces where you join it, it makes a neat design.

One web site is blog.heirloomcreations.net?p=1897

Enjoy

The Missouri Star Quilt Co is coming out with a SpiderWeb Tutorial, that was in October, I do not think it is up yet though, it looks nice.

charity-crafter 01-21-2012 05:44 AM

Thanks for sharing the link. I had printed out Bonnie's tutorial from quiltville and was making all sorts of mistakes trying to get the kite template cut correctly. I knew I was overlooking a simple step and the photos on your link showed me what I was doing wrong.
