Tote bag using flip and sew technique - see update pdf at message #22

I will be teaching a class at our Parks and Rec Center for our seniors on how to make a tote bag, using flip and sew. The bag is about 16"w x 18"H, lined, with two fabric handles. You need to know basic machine sewing, but that's it. I created the instructions in PDF to give as handouts, in case anyone wanted to make multiples. I thought some of you may want to teach a class, and if so, you can use these. Enjoy!

We have a lot of fabric that was donated over the years so I am precutting everything. This way the attendees can pick and choose what they like for the lining, strips and bottom. I think they will have fun, and they will hopefully make more to give as gifts. Its nice because we are only charging for the class but not the materials.

Great Idea for the project and using the donated fabrics.. and if they could make a couple more they could be sold at your next fund raiser... Hope you get some men in your Class too... The tote bag is something they all could use too..

Your class should be a great success with all of your planning. Sounds like you've really thought it out...many thanks for your tote bag pattern. Never can have enough of those. Yours is really cute with the different fabrics.

I love to make tote bags, and I'm sure the seniors will too! My file on my computer is filled with different patterns! :o
