I would like to try this to practice FMQ skills as I am brand new at this. I have been afraid to even try this so I've ony used stitch-in-the-ditch. Would I be able to FMQ each block separately and then add borders and join them together? This way if I goof up I would not ruin the whole quilt. If this is a good plan could you tell me how you joined your blocks? I noticed you have what looks like a zig-zag stitch on the back of your blocks along the pink strip. Thanks for any help or suggestions you can offer.

Beth,
There are currently 3 or 4 threads on QAYG (Quilt As You Go) on the Main board that were started within the last couple of days. You will find plenty of information and links to more info on this method. And, yes, you can FMQ your small blocks and then join them together using any number of methods.

I like to "fussy cut" centers for snow ball squares. I work for a school bus company and found a comical school pattern fabric and made a baby quilt for my grandson. It was a big hit.

Beautiful floral quilt. This is one I will need to add to my ever-growing list of to-do someday.

Tothenci, the quilt on the wall above the quilt that you fussy cut, is it made out of ties? I am gathering ties to do a family quilt, I have 4 brothers plus Dad, my husband, and my son, my son-in-law and maybe the uncles. I want to put their names on them. Let me know. I love how it looks.
