Thanks! I suppose you could continue around as many times as you wished and make it look like a log cabin hex. Ann in TN

Funny you should say that.... I was thinking of doing that too on my next hexagon quilt! ;-)

I love your avitar but can't tell the detail from the small picture. Thank you for this, I am learning so much from this message Board.

yes, fairly light interfacing, just enough to keep the fabric turned under while you sew it to the (one large) piece of fabric to create the block. Then if you want to make the block lighter, you can CAREFULLY trim away the center (from the back) and leave just a 1/4" seam. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for taking the time to instruct us!
The pictures make it look easy and all that machine stitching sure beats the hand stitching I did on "my" hex table runner.
(the hexagons were much smaller, though......)

Great instructions. Do you have a picture of the quilt after it is assembled. Would love to see how it looks before I tackle it.

Thanks for the great tutorial! I think I might actually try this one...love the applique idea!

Great information and you have given me the courage to try a hexagon for my next quilt. Your explanation is extremely helpful to this "retired" newbie to quilting. I am not sure how I ever had time to work since I starting this great quilting adventure.

A huge thanks for making it look so easy. I did a hexagon quilt and it was a bear. Your clear instructions will make my next one a much more pleasant experience.

bearisgray 05-11-2014 04:51 AM

Great tutorial! It was really helpful that you used a different colored strip for each side.

Partial seams are such a useful thing to know about.

Thank you.

deedum 05-11-2014 07:28 PM

Thank you so much, I just bought the hexagon ruler so this will just be a bonus to have this tute.
