I'm going to be finishing up the second baby quilt today (I have two daughters so I made one for the tute and now I'm making another so the girls each have one). Then, I'm hoping to finish up the baby quilt I was working on when I started the tute. A busy week ahead of me!

Beautiful....and I'm going to be a first-time grandma in December....thank you...

Great tute! Thank you so much!

When I started this tutorial, I decided to make a quilt for each of my daughters with their birth information since I wasn't quilting when they were that young. I finished one early for the sake of posting pictures but couldn't finish the other until today. Here's the other one. It's still in desperate need of pressing but I'll get it ironed out and pinned together.

Looking at your adorable new iteration of this wonderful pattern, I notice that the "baby clothes" are slightly cartoon-like abstractions of the real thing - which increases the overall appeal of this quilt. (Think: Teddy bears vs. real bears)
I wonder if we could convince Vogue to reissue this pattern so we can all make more of these darling quilts. How might we go about doing that??? |
I have never seen one of these before but I do think it is the cutest quilt.............I am going to make one....

I totally agree! I've copied the pattern onto brown kraft paper to make it last longer but I'd like to have more than one copy since this is my "signature" baby quilt. I made it a few times and then suddenly it became what everyone wanted me to make for their baby. I think I'm going to email Vogue customer service weekly. That should get them going. ;)[/quote]
You go, girl, and let the rest of us know how we can support your effort! |

I think we should all gang up and email Vogue weekly. It'll be like signing an internet petition. When they see how much they could be profiting from a newer generation's interest, they're bound to jump on the marketing wagon and try to make a profit! :D |

I need to look through Archived tutorials more often. Thanks QuiltnNan for commenting on this great tutorial by Ps 150 so it came back up.

believe it or not, I still have this pattern from about 30 years ago. I made it for my Godson Matthew (who is now 29) way before I became a quilter. Your tutorial is wonderful and makes me want to try one for Matt and his wife's newborn expected to arrive March 18th. Thank you for your wonderful post and instructions.
