I would also try online at Provo Crafts. They sell unfinished wood projects. Going to take a look for them at Michaels and JoAnns next time I am out shopping. I love the idea and know they would be very nice gifts to make. Also, the inside cavity could well be a mini sewing kit to make it even more functional.
