Valentine hearts gift
5 Attachment(s)
One of today's posts under another topic prompted me to send a gift of heart patterns for Valentine's Day to my friends on the Board. These are some I've used over the years in my own quilts.
There really are a multitude of ways to make heart blocks, some more interesting than others, yet we often stick to the same one or two we've already done before. I particularly like hearts with 'rounded' shoulders....those that are not made with just HSTs... but are often snowballed to give the illusion of roundness. That kind of heart, in a 6" size, is presented here. Jan in VA |

Thank you...such a 'SWEET' thing to do. I will be using these to make mug rugs.
I have a group of 6 couples that are friends, and we use all kinds of 'reasons' to get together & have a good time. I have a 'Sweetheart Dinner" at my home for Valentines day & like to give the , ladies, a little treat.. which of course is something I've sewn..so mug rugs using these patterns will be just right! |

Thank you for your Hearts tutorial. I like the one with the vertical strips. It would look wonderful as a scrappy heart.

I prefer hearts that are rounded also. I make my pattern to fit the material then applique. Made a red bandana heart pillow last year.
