Video Tutorial - FMQ - Getting Your Feet Wet
Okay, I think we have finally come up with a way for you to see the video without having to leave the board or see YouTube ads ! Yay ! So once again, hoping you all enjoy them !
This first video goes over how to practice your freemotion quilting using an unthreaded machine ! <video width="640" height="480" controls> <source src="http://slightlyoffquilter.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/SOQ-FMQ-Lesson-1.mp4" type="video/mp4"> </video> |
Thank you very much. I will try this.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Very good teacher

I am so glad you made this video. You touched on so many elements of the quilting process that others seem to ignore - like listening to your machine. I also hate wearing gloves, but have adapted by cutting off the fingers and most of the cuff part. You're a natural! I'm looking forward to watching to the rest of the videos!

Thanks for another good video! I totally agree with you on the "moving the pen" vs. "moving the paper". I thought I must be crazy to be the only one I know that can't agree with practicing with pen and paper. I think that is a great technique though if a person was using a longarm.

OMG--I have watched several tuts on FMQ and your series is by far the best!!! I'm a brand new newby at FMQ (have been tying my quilts/sewing in the ditch on borders) and scared is an understatement--I didn't know you were allowed to trace the pattern onto the quilt!! For a beginner, I think this is the way to go--you can practice all you want, but it is nerve wracking to do all the things right AND get the pattern to look half way decent!!

I couldn't finish watching the video with all the bobbing around of the camera which made me feel dizzy.

Thank you for your patience in doing these videos. Really a ton of good points that you are bringing to us. I am doing my second quilt (only) with FMQ on my DSM and I still have a lot to learn. Thank you. Very helpful videos
