vintage doily mini tutorial

Here's a little tutorial explaining the process of my mini quilt:
I used water soluble glue, sparingly, to secure the doily to the linen. Then I sewed the doily around the edges with matching thread. I didn't secure in the center, but you certainly could if it needed it. After that I spray basted the quilt sandwich and hand stitched the little mini. Thankyou so much for this! Now to find the doiles (sp) I have!

That's adorable! Thank you for sharing how to make this little quilt!

Beautiful job!!!

That's a great idea. I have a couple of drawers full of doilies (I love making them!), and this would be a great way to display them. I have to 'rotate' my doilies, because I only have so many flat places to put them!

Thanks, I have some my Grandmother made and it would be nice to do one
for each of my children and grandchildren for a keepsake. My kids remember their great-grandmother, grandkids didn't know her except by picture. |
This is to cute for words...lol!!

That is a very attractive mini- Makes me think that several of them with coordinated but not matching backgrounds would make a great wall grouping that combines the vintage with the contemporary.
