This will try to be a picture tutorial, if I can load all of them. I hope they go in sequence. It will have to be continued, as I can only upload 5 pictures at a time.

You can easily make this in a couple hours. Please let me know if I skipped a step. I'm sure as quilters most of you sew and can figure this out. Maybe you just needed the size for a starting point. Oly fun/cloth is easy to work with. It is not heavy and bulky, it does not fray or ravel. I think the straps going from bottom seam gives more strength that sewing straps to top edge where weight of contents may pull and eventually tear the straps sewn there. I hope you can understand my tut but if you have a problem, just ask, I'll try to help. Have a nice day-Toogie |
Thank you.

:) Thank you for the detailed tute on your tote bag! You are a wonderful teacher.

Great size to haul donation quilts to Project Linus. I'm just afraid when I empty it at the meeting I'll fill it up with donation fabric! I'll just have to put on by big gril panties and see what wonderful treasures I'll bring home. TY for the wonderful tutorial.

Thank you for the tutorial!

Thanks so much. I know making these tutorials takes a lot of time and thought.

My husband didn’t like the handle straps that long and neither did I. I reworked my existing bag straps so now I think TWO 64inches for strap handle is all I would change on this tutorial. I hope this didn’t mess anyone up. It wasn’t hard to re-do if you need to shorten your existing handles.

Thanks for the wonderful tutorial on this bag. I think most of us could make use of a bag this large.
|
Awesome bag and instructions! Thanks so much for sharing this.

This is one I made yesterday, out of a canvas type fabric and edge finished my seams with the serger and also made with the 64” handles. You just carry it by hand. In the tutorial with longer straps, I intended to carry on my shoulder. I soon found out it was hard to carry the weight of a couple quilts and keep the straps on your shoulder. The shorter hand held strap is more practical. I am glad you all appreciated this tutorial. Even most of us know how to make a bag, it is easier when someone provides the measurements and shows how it works out. I hope I did just that, made it a little easier for you.

Love this, Thank You sew much

Your R/W/B would be perfect for gifting a Quilt of Valor piece. I know some of QOV are delivered in pillow cases, but just a thought. Good tut and a nice sized bag with so many uses. You're a STAR!

What a perfect bag!! Thank you for the great directions!

I love this tutorial!! The dimensions are particularly useful to me right now. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my candy squares and I think this is going to be the project! Since it will be light weight fabric and not the more rugged canvas, the shoulder strap option will be great. Your descriptions and pictures of how to get this done are very clear. Thank you!

Ibex94 please show us your quilt tote when finished and remember to look down from first post, bc the first shoulder strap was too long. We like the last RWB tote with the short hand held straps best bc with the weight of the quilt, I had a hard time keeping the long straps on my shoulder.

Thank you for the wonderful instructions that are easy to understand.

Thanks Toogie, for that great tutorial!

I will be getting my materials together today. Thank you for the reminder about the length of the straps.

Thanks for taking the time to explain your bag! I know it takes a little bit of time to create. When I made my straps/handles too long, I just tied a knot in each handle.
