Some of my quilt blocks and some of the traditional quilt blocks use mirror images. In my Boston Blocks this means two blocks will have the same colors but in one the light is on the left and the medium on the right and the next block will be the opposite. The light is on the right and the medium on the left. To help everyone to see this process here are some pictures to clarify how this works.

Bessie Layout

the block on the left --the pink is on the right -------and the block on the right has the pink on the left.

Now sew the joined fabrics onto the bottom fabric.

Cut out the center with the template

cut out the second one

And you now have mirror image blocks

I learned this about your blocks very early on. So glad you put a tut in here. It'll save lots of people all the mistakes I made. But even though they are mirror image, they are still easy to make and so much fun.

Thank you so much for the tute. I really like the way you had larger blocks and then cut them down.
