great tutorial moonpi and Kitty! It was very easy to follow and i have always wondered how to do that but it looked way too hard but you made it seem doable. Another one for me to bookmark to try when i finish off my other projects...

That cat is amazing. Where did she learn to make such great quilt blocks?
Keep up the good work kitty. :D

Loretta, I love your old quilt

This pattern lends itself to so many color variations - 2, 3, or more colors, and background can be light, dark, or bright. Patrice was kind enough to remind me of another construction method too - assembling like a log cabin, but slipping folded squares in as you go for corners.
I like this method because you can mess up a bit, re-square it at the next level, and still come out with a great looking project. Unless you get waaaay out of whack, you could get through a whole quilt top without ripping seams out.

Thank you for taking the trouble to produce such clear instructions, I will certainly be giving it a go.

i forgot to say it was so helpful that you also showed us so clearly what colors you used as i would not otherwise have a clue as to where to put which color as i am very color challenged!
