Most of all I would be sad that the store is closing. So many small quilting stores are closing. It is 75 miles to a quilting store from where I live so I really have to plan ahead. I also said I would not buy new fabric and am concentrating on my stash. But, alas, on a baby quilt project, I am 2 inches shy of what I need-so I called the store and, of course, they will send some more if they still have it. Never fails, does it?

I don't think you did a bad thing - you got 18 yards of fabric for the price of 9, works for me. I have taken advantage of more than one quilt shop closing and got some fantastic bargains, and I am still working on the stash I created. Besides, I bought the fabrics while I was still working and now, with my husband disabled and both of us on SS, I'm glad I have that fabric in my stash. You are not a fabric failure, just a frugal fabric shopper.
