The wire based shelve are light and strong, but they do cat parts of a sewing machine that can poke through them.

Wish that I could go see your machines on display!! I was at the Virginia Quilt Museum and they had a wonderful display of old machines. How I love those old beautiful machines!! Thanks for sharing

This storage area was only OK for the cats.

I have found some plastic cutting boards at the thrift store that I put under the machines that are not in a case or have flat bottoms. I suppose plywood would work, too.
