Default 185k machine

Hey folks I'm so excited to-day. I just bought a 185K last night from Goodwill. It gets shipped to-day
I'm calling her wee Jean since she is from Scotland.
I do have questions...... Are all 185K's green? ..Is she a 3/4 machine like my 99K? Will she take the same attachments/bobbins etc?
Thanks, I can't wait to get her

I have a tan 185. It is a 3/4 machine very much like your Singer 99. It can use the same attachments and bobbins. She will be very heavy.

Your 185 is the younger sister to your 99 - basically the same machine in a more modern case. I'm not home right now but I think she takes a class 66 bobbin and standard needles. I do believe they are all green (oops I stand corrected - apparently some are beige). I have done something to mine, but when I tested it right after I got her, she sewed fine. I have seen comments that they are noisy, but I don't remember mine being noisy. Enjoy your new toy.

I got mine recently from goodwill also. The ad said it didnt work but the wheel wasnt tightened from the bobbin winder thingie and the machine works terrific.I love using her and Katherine does a great stitch. She takes a 66 bobbin. She doesnt have the light fixture but a nearby ott light does the trick.

I have a green 185J (3/4 size) that I purchased at our local Salvation Army store for $15.00 (in cabinet.) She is great and so smooth. Hope you like yours as much as I like mine.

I have a 185K I believe they call her the "Green Goddess" I got her at a estate sale for $8.00 she works great, but the machine does not sit real good in the cabinet. I am going to have my husband make a stand for her. Unless I sell her first.
