Question My "find"...Minnesota Rotary machine...any info appreciated!

Hi all,
Well, I happened to be looking for another vintage machine to go with the Singer treadle I inherited from my Great-Grandma...I was on Craig's List (my 1st time to look there) and I happened upon this machine...Lady was asking $15.00...I thought maybe she had forgotten a 0...lol...Hubby and I went to check it out...lady showed it all to me, including that it sews beautifully, she sewed on cotton, denim, and leather! It does need a good cleaning and the cords are worn and will need safety updates...anyways, prior to this I had never heard of a Minnesota machine, and when I looked them up couldn't find any info on this particular one...anyone have any info? Here are some pics I took...and by the way I gave her a 20.00 dollar bill for it, she went to give me change, and I told her to keep it as I still couldn't believe that is all she was asking...even if it isn't worth that, I love the look of it, and that it works, folds in the case perfectly, has 3 original bobbins, etc..thanks all for looking and any help you may have!

Regards,
Kif
PS I did comment to dh that I hope she didn't sell it for such a small amount due to it being haunted or something.....Haha

I would not worry about bad spirits, you acquired it in a very honorable fashion and hold it in high regard.

Thanks for the help...I had found the link that SteveH posted...and it had some great info..tho nothing about a Rotary machine or any that look like mine..had Minnesota A, B, C, etc..I tried looking up the numbers I found on the back of it, got nothing there, either...I really am not worried about spirits..but had to say the thought did cross my mind, and I knew my hubby would get a chuckle from it...I also jokingly mentioned that I would then need to get in touch with the guy off the "Haunted Collector" show...
Thanks again, and any other info, etc...bring it on please!!

If you scroll down to the bottom of the site that Steve gave you you will see a Franklin FR made by White. I have one and this is the same machine as yours. You can download a free manual at www.ismacs.net/white/manuals/white-rotary.pdf Your Minnesota is a badged White sold by Sears. Sears added the name Minnesota. Mr Sears is originally from Minnesota so name of the machines. The manual will be a white manual but will be same machine.

Thanks, Glenn! I went back to that website and using your info regarding my machine being made by White Co, I found the Rotary machine and I downloaded the manual...Do you know if there is a way to find out the year of manufacture? I know the numbers C19436 are on back of the motor along with the motor patent date..I tried inputting that series of letter/numbers, no luck..I also tried looking up the serial # that is on the badge on the back of the machine, but didn't find anything with it either...I think I read that these machines weren't made after World War ll, but not sure if that is correct or not...thanks again for all the help!

Dating machines made by white is iffy at best. We know it would be made after the last patent date on the machine. Mine was made about 1924-1926 I think.

I wouldn't worry too much about it being haunted. My White treadle only sews at night without me if I leave the machine open . . . so I close it every time I'm finished.
