Default 222k SINGER MACHINE RARE

Just came across this listing. This is just going to far...I guest if you really want one you will pay what they are asking. But, I could sure have a great collection for that amount of money!

I've seen them sell for even more than that! None for me in this world.

I think the thing for this one is this -- this machine is NOT your standard FW. This machine is a free arm/convertible machine. Although, no, I wouldn't pay this price, either, even if I could, it may not be too far out in left field! If you look closely at the machine, you will notice the differences.

They don't come up nearly as often as the 221s. Even so I was thinking the going rate was more in the $700 to $1000 range.

Were I a serious collector, I'd pay the price and be done with it; it appears to be in beautiful shape. I certainly wouldn't use it as a sewing machine; rather, I'd use my Kenmore 158.1913 free-arm convertible ($7.99 at Value Village) which can probably out-sew a 222 any day of the week.

Not being a serious collector, I just don't see the point.

It's right in line with what I've seen them selling for but not an amount I am willing to pay. I'd love to stumble onto a fabulous deal on one sometime though!

That is around the price I have seen for 222s, also. I am happy with my 221, but would be tickled if I found one for a bargain, too.

It is on the top of my wish list but I am holding out for a freak find or $900.00 tops.

Wow, that is a huge price! I have one that my son's girlfriend (now wife) was taking to the thrift store or the dump because it didn't sew well!!!! my son brought it to see if I wanted to play around or display it and all it needed was a good cleaning, oiling and the needle put in and threaded properly! Its the only machine I use for piecing and it is a dream but I had no idea of cost before today!!!

Susy, if you have a 222, you are one lucky lady, especially the way you acquired it! Congratulations!
