Same machine as mine, just more used. Yours has the same motor, the same light, the same case bottom, but it's been rewired somewhere in it's life. That large hole in the back should have a three pronged male connector in it. The motor and light wire into that. On the outside the power cord and foot controller are wired into the female side of the plug and plug together in the hole.

I'll try and get a pic of the way it should be and post it.

Hi. I am new here. I registered only today. Your machine is just beautiful. Good find. I recently found the shuttle and a bobbin for this machine and some attachments. I am selling them because they don't fit my Singer 66 or my Singer 127.
The shuttle is so pretty too. I am originally from the Appalachia area. We did call these shuttles "flying" or "running" foxes because they look like a fox face. LOL
It is hard to find a machine like yours. They are little powerhouses. Congratulations!

I wondered what the hole in the back of the case was for! I'm curious to see how the receptacles originally fit so look forward to that photo. I knew our machine had been rewired since the wiring now includes one of the motor/lamp box receptacles, and the foot control is blue.

Thanks, LDNanna. This is my first New Home and first 'vibrating shuttle' machine. Needless to say, I am quite taken w its design, inside and out, and agree w you about the shuttle. I cleaned the innards enough to get it humming along and it is sweet which means I'll be able to really use it (yay) once I get some needles

Do you know anything else about it? If so, please share!

Here are the pics I promised yesterday.

>The two views of the plug:

The power cord / foot controller get the female side since there are no protruding hot wires.

>The male plug with it's mounting wings:

On the back side the wings are attached to the plug by a bracket. The wings mount to the inside of the case by screws.

>The wiring set up:

The original wiring on this machine was so bubba'd and patched and spliced it was actually dangerous. You'd get a stout buzz every time you touched it. The first attempt at wiring it resulted in a shorted out foot controller, so I ended up using a modern unit and just replacing it's plug with the antique plug.
I'm still looking for an original foot controller.

If you ever decide to try and wire it back to OEM, I have a wiring diagram that works.

Jae, I really don't know a lot since I am a Singer enthusiast. My neighbors had New Home, and they were great. We didn't have them because we had no electricity. (lol) I do know that they were very powerful and quiet. She sewed for 12 children on the little machine. There isn't a whole lot of info on them. I see that another member is very kindly copying the manual for sharing, so that is a real nice thing to have. Another member has given you some advice on finding needles. Not for sure but I know that Organ Needle company sells New Home/Janome needles but not sure if they have them in this length.

I have a Singer 127 and a 66, both treadle. One is the Memphis pattern and the other a Red Eye.
