Default Improved Faultless Sewing Machine

I picked up this Improved Faultless at Shopgoodwill yesterday for $5......no one else bid on it. It was pretty dirty but the decals looked so good. I haven't been able to get any real information about it from the internet and couldn't find anything on this board. So does anyone know anything about it? It has a serial #1527278. The stitch is good after I figured out how to thread the tension on top of arm. It has some bare metal behind the bobbin winder and on the wheel, but other than that it shined up nice.

Looks like a National to me. What Needlebar refers to as the Vindex Top Tension

I know nothing about it, but the name cracks me up. "Improved Faultless"? Was the first Faultless maybe a little faulty?? LOL

Those decals ARE nice, though, and don't look too beat up. Looks like you got a pretty darn good deal!

You just can't beat a machine for $5. Even if it's Improved Faultless which I know absolutely nothing about. Sure is pretty!

If it was Faultless to begin with and they improved it...you got the best deal possible for 5.00! The decals look in good shape! How well does it sew?

I believe the Faultless was made by 3 different companies at different times. National, Free and one other I don’t remember.
