Default Anyone in Ft Lauderdale? this is an OSMG emergency!

the first vintage japanese machine I got was my beloved Capri. Unfortunately, I decided to repaint it several years ago, and broke the plastic face plates. They were really brittle. I have hunted ever since for a machine like it, and there is one on goodwill badged fleetwood that is identical. The goodwill store will not ship it. I have been watching for this machine for about 3 years now and want it desperately!

I have emailed them and offered a ton of money if they would take it out of the cabinet and mail it, but in case I don't hear from them is there anyone down there I could pay to pick up and mail it to me?

http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem...temID=18837497 is the auction,

and my beloved capri looked like this before disassembly:

well the GW office there refuses to mail the machine. I am working right now with a freight company. Looks like it will cost me $250. Too bad there isn't a member down there who wants to make some money. I considered looking on CL for someone who does 'errands', but haven't found anyone that looks businesslike.

WHAT? How do they come up with $250? I had an entire Long Arm shipped from the US to Canada for about $500... Maybe see if you can talk to a few more shippers! The one that delivers the LA I bought is ABF. Now, sure I'm guessing they have a deal because of volume, but still!!

Road trip!

You could drive/fly down to Lauderdale, and either bring it back, or ship it yourself, for less than $250.

We live on west coast of Fl but this morning made camping arrangements for FT Lauderdale for Jan 4 -a Sunday because
DD and family fly back to Montreal . We are new to traveling with the motor home and it's too big to drive around looking small streets. Hope you can get it as I feel your frustration.

I am trying to find the fabric that is in the m-home and I have the same feelings . Seven yrs is a long time for fabric.

well, I am currently wheelchair bound- so no road trip. I have been desperate enough to get this machine that I will pay the shipping price.
I was the only bidder- got it for $5.99.

I live in Sunrise which is a suburban of Ft Lauderdale. Have u purchased this machine? Is it ready for pickup? please email me at [email protected] with all the info. Once u send me the info, I'll try to figure out where the machine is located and we can make arrangements for pickup

$250 is outragous, I spent that shipping that patcher from SD to CA, and that was three boxes and HEAVY.

Most of the Goodwills use a packing service, and most machines like this cost less than $50 to ship, which includes the service of the packing company. If it's in a cabinet, just take it out and donate the cabinet back to Goodwill.

Hopefully HankAndy can help you out.
