Default Purple Passion Hippy Machine

A week or so ago there was a thread about painting cabinets. Well I just had to share the one I obtained last week. When I first saw it I actually laughed at it. OMG,sure is butt ugly! Not even can be considered shabby chic! I think using the sewing machine was not considered either as the paint job is sloppy in and out and even on the sewing machine.

The sewing machine is a Singer 66K allotted 21 June 1924. She obviously had a lot of use as the decals are very worn. Note the black face plate. This one may end up as a repaint and a treadle head or even a hand crank. Heck, what is one more project????

Oh my goodness, definitely not even close to being shabby chic, but at least you have rescued it.

5 gallons of paint stripper and you might have a sewing cabinet. That is just ....... ugh ..... it puts the UG in UGLY.

Put that machine in a treadle cabinet and it will sew with delight.

The poor baby! I am glad you rescued her but she is going to need a major face lift!

Lord have mercy! That is one butt ugly cabinet! It definitely needs to become a stripper. Love the machine. I have a 66 in treadle and she is great. Her name is Clemmie, and she is a jewel!!!

She's a much to serious looking old girl to be trapped in that little creative disaster! I'd be inclined to rescue the cabinet too.....a severe strip and wax is in order. Must admit, I do get a little nuts with cans of spray paint and objects for the garden....but even my old rusty wheelbarrow (now a plant filled joy in stunning magenta) got a better finish than this poor thing.

No wonder they were selling it... No self respecting hippie would want that...

That cabinet is a travesty!!! OOOOGLY! I'm quite sure that the poor machine was afraid to live in that awful cabinet.
I like purple....however that's over the top!

While I miss the shiney chrome like parts the black is kind of stealthy. My boyfriend would like it. As for the cabinet? Either strip it or paint over it.
