I won't be posting any pics of my two Featherweights anytime soon. Rescued both of these off Ebay and all I can say is when you purchase on Ebay, you get what you see, minus some you don't see.
My newer one 1947, had some major damage to the bobbin case base, and the plate above the bobbin.
I had purchased these two because my DH and DS who is 16 took a clean and care class for FW this week. When the boys came home I heard all that was wrong with my youngest machine and DS said, "Mom, it looked like those ladies took their shiny Caddilac out of the garage and had it sitting there for all to see"
Well, I purchased these two Munchkins for another reason. I was needing more DSM for the 4 Granddaughters. Three are sewing and I don't have enough room to have them all sew at once.
I did have one of the 6 yr old's sewing on the FW over Thanksgiving, it was so sweet. Bright Pink thread in those bobbins is a beautiful sight.

Back to the repairs on my youngest FW. My DH and son are going to repair her, but parts, prices are so jacked up out there and people try and sell 301 bobbin parts to replace them, I had a tough time finding parts, but did locate some and Guy from IL was wonderful. My hubby talked to him and they figured out all the Gib, Rotary whatevers and funny screws this little wonder has. Parts will be in the mail soon!

Look forward to showing you some shiny Caddy soon, No, probably not, but they will be loved by several little girls. I should go, I need to cut 5"squares as I think we went through nearly all I have cut. Enjoy.

I have one that belonged to my MIL's MIL in California. Originally bought 7/12/1939 and I was born 7/12/1940.
My MIL sent it home with me a few years ago and my brother wrapped rope around the case and made a carrying handle for to get it home on the plane. What fun that was! Before all the security now but they called me aside to ask what it was. Must have looked like a machine gun taken apart. Anyway I said a little sewing machine and they said OK that's what they thought and let me go through. I brought it home as a carry-on. It has the original manual, all the acessories and original sales receipt and her payment book. I love it and it sounds like a 'little Singer'.

My baby got sick yesterday. Working on stockins for a Free Toy Store we have here. (give away free used toys we have cleaned and fixed all year) She started slowing down, then I felt the motor and it was quite hot. I never had one do this and was quite distressed, unplugged her, let her set and cool. Moved onto a Kenmore we had sitting there for backup or if somone else wanted to sew. Was truly sad. Packed her away in her case, truly worried about her but can't do anything till after first of year. Have two FWs and love them both, other one is limping along too. Will be finishing out the season on the big ol Janome or Kenmore. Four more days of the free store.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL THE WONDERFULL AND TALANTED PEOPLE ON THIS QUILT SITE. MAY IT BE A BLESSED CELEBRATION FOR EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU.

Just bought my featherweight on ebay but I am having a problem identifying the year.....which concerns me a bit as I have not paid for it but am due to pay on Monday. I hope it is a real ad....so far I have not checked with Singer but will do this on Monday. I asked the seller to check again...the serial number begins with AP which two experts have told me that there are no record of featherweights produced with AP...then I read on the Singer site the year is 1966....will have to wait until Monday and call singer and maybe the person who is selling will recheck the serial number. I am so excited about the deal and hope everything will be good!

I have one that my Dh bought for me @ this little shack that this young man had on the side of the road. My honey bought it for $15 dollars. Just has my husband paid for the Featherweight, this lady was also asking about the machine. My honey said to the lady sorry it's been sold already. It came with its original case. I said to my honey WOW!!! You got an awesome deal. He said I know how much you have wanted one so here it is. I'm trying to learn how to post pics. I'll put a picture up when I learn how.LOL

I just checked my list (downloaded befire singer took away accessibility)of singer serial numbers. In the AP serial numbers, there are no 221 or 222 listings. I hope you can find out the info before you pay for it. Or is there recourse through ebay when a seller misrepresents the goods being sold?
