Featherweights have dropped a little in price on Kijiji (Canadian version of Craig's List). I'm seeing more advertised in the $200-$300 range down from the $400-$500 range a couple of years ago. I just bought one from this list for $125 and it is in very good sewing shape but had the original foot peddle replaced and was missing the instruction book. Last year I bought two featherweights for $60 on this same list from a lady cleaning out her mother's and aunt's estates. She didn't know what she had and called them old Singers.

I have 2, got them both at yard sales. One is a 1952 paid ten dollars, the other one is a 1963 paid $40.00 for, they are in great condition. Or try looking on craigslist. Sometimes you can find them alot cheaper. :)

Watch Craigs List. You must look almost every day,but sooner or later one will show up,I have 2 and 50.00 for each both in mint condition. Watch the Dallas,Austin,Houston, and some of the other large cities in Texas.Good luck.

Someone also posted a white FW on Craigs List in the San Francisco area for $260.00. He took the extension off and put a longer one on from a black FW and then painted it white. Even said in the ad the colors didn't match. :thumbdown:

I payed $275 from my local quilt shop. It had been traded in and he went over it and made sure it was okay. I didn't get any attachments but the case is beautiful and isn't musty and the machine looks good. Just has a few paint nicks in the front. I think it's from taking it in and out of the case. He has another one but he wants $350 for that one. I'd love to get another one but not at that price. I need to look for a bargain.

I collect Necchi and Singer vintage sewing machines and now have 5 featherweights. I, too, have noticed the prices coming down a little on them. Keep searching and you will find the perfect little FW and at a good price.
