Default Singer 66 Hand Crank- Thanks LeonF!

This Singer 66 was from a treadle table and has no rail/screw hole for a motor mount or hand crank. LeonF suggested using a steering wheel knob, which I ordered and clamped on.

It's not too pretty but it sews (with a lot of arm turning)!

Thanks LeonF!

Happy it is working for you. Do you have room to turn those mounting screws around? They look like they are wanting to grab some skin.

When I first eyeballed assembly I thought the clamp bolts might hit the machine, without actually trying it. I think I can turn them around, or I may shorten these bolts or look for shorter ones.

I am not looking forward to winding a bobbin with this though!

You mean you don't have a 201 or 99 or ... or even a Sidewinder that you can wind bobbins on?

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.

I just did a count and I have 5 other machines with motors to wind a 66 bobbin. I was only emphasizing the arm work involved with a 1:1 crank ratio, I have to watch my bursitis in my elbow!

I know, pretty pathetic. I did just miss out on a free craigslist Singer 66 red eye, with a motor, so I have no one to blame but myself.
