We bid on one of those at GW once. Didn't win.

My wife's father worked at GE in Ft Wayne, IN for decades before, during and after WWII. I wonder if he had any hand in making parts for those?

This is just a sweet machine. Out of curiosity, how much does it weigh? I'm so glad you posted this.

Thanks for the welcome. Someday i'll post a pic of the other machines we have, 15 in all. IMHO the best machines made in this country were the old Singer sewing machines, Zippo lighters and Smith&Wesson revolvers.

Not sure about the weight. I'll check when we get home. My machine is now on the "to be sold/traded" pile now. Neat but not something we will be using either for the shows or for projects.

Absolutely adorable machine and in my favorite color. One question -- how on earth do you wind a bobbin?

here:

These are actually a little smaller than Featherweights and the mechanics are NOTHING like a featherweight.
(granted, I have big hands)

I'm in the market for one of these -and they take the Standard attachments too. I believe they are made by Standard to be sold by GE - after Standard was bought by Osaan. BTW - Singer bought Osaan some time after that.
