Default gold is the new black

Sorry if I'm mistaken....but wasn't someone here putting together a beautiful gold machine recently?
If you are looking for the Free irons all dressed up in gold....I'm sure this will easily fit in Santa's sack:

I always wonder what happened to the rest of the cabinet and machine.

I had a set painted white, then black - really hard to get things apart.

Why do people do things like that? Gold? REally??

I'm looking for irons for that really old Davis that I'm still working on. Jon says I'll probably never find one. It's pretty unique because the bobbin winder is on the leg of the irons. So, if anyone is out looking and spots one, let me know, okay? It's pretty hard to operate a treadle without the irons and I don't think I could put a HC on this one.... well, maybe but that would detract from its uniqueness.

Hi Jean,

Here are some pics of my 1878 Low Arm:

A nice display like Mr. Huffman's sewing machine in my avatar is what I settled on for my early Davis #8871. I have dozens of machines I can use including the 1878 low arm but I feel Great grandpa Davis is special, rare, and deserving of retirement.

Sorry, I wandered off topic. I believe Free irons were originally brown. Can't say I'm a big fan of the gold.

that first one is very similar to my early Davis treadle. Not quite the low arm early, but early none the less.
