I received the vintage bubbins from Ebay today and they fit. Now I am working on trying to get the stitches nice and the tension correct. You all helped so much with the bobbin problem, could you direct me to a good spot so my stitches will be pretty.

Do you have an owners manual? There are instruction in there on how to adjust both top and bottom tensions and how the correct stitch should look.
I'm partial to the Singer site for manuals so I check there first for Singer manuals I don't have:
