    I Got A Featherweight!

I got it today from a lady thru Freecycle. Yes! It was FREE!!!!!!
She posted a 1940's sewing machine in a case. I told her I would pick it up today. She left it on her porch and when I saw the case, I knew. I did open it to make sure after I got it in the car. Decals are almost perfect, very little crud on the machine, foot pedal fine, attachments, bobbins and bobbin case included. No musty smell in almost perfect case. And 2 keys for the case. And it works!!!!!!!

    221-1 model. Allotted 11-18-1949

I will be shaking for a while so I can't take pics yet.

Have you stopped shaking yet? Glad you made it home in one piece. Be sure to sit down before opening the case so you don't drop it or faint.

That's wonderful!! Featherweights are lovely little machines. Free is even better!
I got a free Singer 301 from Craig's list last year. It's amazing what people give away.

Thanks everyone for the congrats. I stopped shaking long enough to clean her up. She needs a new belt but other than that she is good to go!

Congratulations!!! Nothing is better than FREE. What a great find!! Lucky, I thought my DH did well when he bought on at a garage sale with all attachments, case, buttonhole attachment and lots of other stuff for $10.00. He claims it, and doesn't even sew. That's all right I have two of my own.My cheapest was for $100.00 at a garage sale, including case & attachments. Now I just need to find a good FW table somewhere. Have lots of fun with it.
