I have 34 working vintage machines and love them all----After my husband passed, I needed something to feel excited about and vintage machines (all but 4 are Singers) came to my rescue. I buy them in all knd of shape and work on getting them up a nd running to make quilts. So, as long as it doesn't keep you from paying your bills or upset your husband too much......I say "go for it"

Do you really, really think you can come one here and ask us to talk you out of it. NO WAY! I say she deserves to be adopted by a loving new mom. God for it! (As long as you have enough money to keep feeding DH - forget about the guilt).

Gee, the Singer 15 is still listed on craigslist, the guy was suppose to let me know when I can see it, but then he never called back, hasn't responded to my test or email or call. Not sure if he lost his ph or sold the machine or sick or what. I had my hopes on getting this little portable, not like I am without but I still am hoping he will call me back. My dh was so supported on my new purchase to be....hopefully he will call if not there will be another one sometime...

Oh that is brutal! Finally deciding then no return call!
I missed out on a 1951 15-91 last week at our Habitat for Humanity. Went home to search the serial number which was one of the lost lists as it turned out. When I went back to get it, it was GONE! Sniff! That will teach me for waiting.
