Just got my 1958 Lady Kenmore model 516-89
#1

I just got my 1958 Lady Kenmore model 516-89 today. It needs some cleaning and looks like I need a new needle thread guide as the old one is not there. Can anyone help me as to where I can find parts for this machine. I plugged it in and the light works and the needle goes up and down ok. I also was able to sew a couple of inches to see how the stitches are.....they were fine, even though I am missing that little part. So thinking this is going to be a good working machine as soon as I get it cleaned up and oiled.
Just need to find parts. Any help is appreciated.

The only thing is the "needle tread guide" guide is missing. Doesn't seem to affect the quality of the stitches but sort of bugs me. Anyone know where I can find a replacement?????

Just curious, seeing all the fancy built-in stitches, why Sears went to cams in machines that were newer. Cheaper, I guess?
