Default Another machine for Christmas!

I was so surprised (and pleased!!) when I opened a gift from my DS and DIL. A pretty little toy machine, research shows it to be a Casige.

The decals are perfect, minimal amount of rust/pitting which I think can be cleaned up. It would not make a stitch, but the crank and parts move freely. We figured out the problem was that the needle was too short to make a loop for the hook to complete the chainstitch, so we were fiddling with the needle and found it was too short because the shank had been removed so the needle would fit.

Well, that sent me on a search for the correct needle, and I may have found it on ebay - a 12x1 thin shank. Then I realized I had made a purchase from one of our regular posters here on the Vintage forum!

Here is a picture...

Cute machine and generous son and wife! And hey, better two postings than none, right? At least we get to see the machine.

Very nice. I love the decals! Glad you have the needle problem figured out and a fresh one on the way.
