I saw one just like yours at a thrift shop last week they wanted $15.00 for it. I went today and it was still there and marked down to $10.00. I'm thinking it didn't work because sewing machines don't last more than a day in thrift shops around here.
You are so lucky to have her. She is perty!!

Great machine. 15-91's were known as the Farmer's Wife's Special. It is a heavy (I'm sure you noticed that when you tried to move it) powerful, fast too, straight stitch machine. It handles multiple layers and denim and canvas and was probably used to mend countless piles of farm clothes. Many quilters like them because they have a larger harp.

No wonder the cabinet was so heavy! Great 'find'!
