Default Need Help in Finding a Manual

Hi, I'm new to this group and need help with getting my White Rotary treadle sewing machine going. I don't know if I threaded it wrong, or wrong needle, or a number of other possibilities. It doesn't want to catch the under bobbin thread.

I've downloaded a picture and hope it comes up here. Anyway I need as much advice as you can give me. I'm not totally dumb to treadle machines, but this one has me stumped.
Thank You, Claudia

LOL! I am dumb to treadles. I have my grandmother's old Singer and I would love to sew with it. Some of my sweetest childhood memories are of sitting her lap while she treadled away and let me guide fabric scraps all over! I wish I knew how to fill the bobbin and thread it up. I can operate my Janome 10001 without thinking, but can't figure out how to make the oldie go!

Well I got my White Rotary treadle going. Thanks to NanaCsew2. My next question is what type of needle is used for this machine. A 15 x 1 ? The manual does not say. It only says to use FR needles only. Do they make those anymore, or is there a substitue? The needle that is in there now is a # 1/2 if that is of any help. Also is there a special place to order extra bobbins for this old machine? According to the manual, the bobbin is a # 744. If anyone knows anything about this 1917 White Rotary, I'd sure appreciate the information.

This sure is a fun sight to read. I've learned a lot already I never knew before.

Thank You, Claudia

Thank you for all the help I've received from you people. I'm sure enjoying this sight and getting a lot of information and trying to apply it. LOL Here's a new question. As you can see from this photo, I need the smaller bobbin for my Harris No 9 Hand Crank Machine. I'm having problems finding any. Yes, the larger ones are quite available, but not the smaller bobbins. Does anyone know where I can order some? I really love sewing with this machine, and it happens to have a reverse, which is even better.

Thank you for all your help. Claudia
