Default Meet Gretel - Singer 115

A few months ago member LovelyL (Linda) mentioned she wanted to sell her 115 head.

Last year I purchased a 66 with a treadle cabinet in fairly bad condition and I took it completely apart and started working on it, but never finished it. mostly because I was not completely happy with the condition of the machine. My husband did a wonderful job of sand blasting and re-painting the treadle irons, and a neighbor wood-worker is going to rebuild the cabinet for me. But I wasn't thrilled with the head.

I contacted Charlee and I asked her that if she had a preference for a machine to sew on, would she choose a 66 or a 115. She said the 115.

So I contracted with Linda to buy her machine and she said she would wait until July when I was traveling through her area to pick it up.

The timing was PERFECT. I met her a few miles off the highway at a one-stop-fab-shop, we exchanged the machine and then went in to shop!!!

Had a great time meeting you and your friends Linda - thanks so much for Gretel. I can't wait to get the cabinet finished so I can use her!!

Gretel sews a beautiful stitch (sample provided by Linda), came with a manual, spare bobbins, and several extra feet. I'm sooooo happy!!!

The manual, attachments and sample of her stitch.

BTW - Linda had already named her Gretel. She has the gingerbread design so the name is fitting.

WOW, I just love those decals. That is one gorgeous machine. I am envious. I have several older Singers but none as pretty as this one.

I am so happy you love Gretel. I wanted her to have a good home where she would be used! I so enjoyed meeting you. Maybe next year the shop hop and your trip to Columbus will be on the same day again and we can shop and have lunch. Have fun with Gretel and post pics of what you make with her.
Linda
PS If you remember, Sue, I was selling Gretel because I was out of space. Since I met you, friends dropped off a 15-91 in a beautiful cabinet (free) and I purchased another. So, I am even more out of space now. I must have a sickness...
