Default modified 28 Handcrank not pretty

Picked up this 1895 28 HC this weekend, Very rough.

It would turn, but barely. Previous owner mods to the HC

three bodged repairs, but hey it works.

A stock one by the repaired one.

I am going to leave it repaired. I oiled and cleaned a bit and it makes a fine stich now. I will leave it's wear signs. Not all need to be restored to be beautiful.

She is a beauty and oh, the stories she could tell, I'm sure! So glad she's back to making a stitch again - she was waiting for you!

And it has the front slide plate!! If it works, don't knock it.

I may try to do something different where it fits into the spokes of hand wheel. I guess that cloth 'cast' would make it a little quieter.

I was wondering if something was broken under the sewn cloth "cast", didn't want to look. I even got teh rear slide to operate after some persuasion.

As long as she is working, her appearance only shows how much she was used. Her repairs are all part of her history.
