Default My sister's save - White VS 1

My sister went to the dump on Tuesday. While there she noticed a treadle sewing machine sitting on the side. She asked about why it was there and was told someone left it there. The dump guy asked her if she wanted it. Of course she did. Free! She says that in the drawers were a White tin with all the accessories, a very tattered manual, needles, and other goodies. I gave her some advice as to oiling and cleaning. I think it is a VS-1. One machine I don't have, LOL

Score one for your sister.

Kudos to the dump guy that didn't burry it.

I'm jealous, everybody has a White treadle but me.

Great save! Amazing what people will throw out. The dumps (transfer stations) here don't let you take anything out. The only exception I know of is paint shack at the one here in Centralia where you can pick up free paint.

Steve - does the VS 1 take a regular shuttle, or a boat shuttle?

FYI, Rodney, my sister summers at their place just out of Belfair, WA. I will ask her about the location of her dump.

I don't have one either Joe! I'm happy to have the 2 I have though don't remember what they are but one's a new home and the other a singer and the lady I bought it from described her as 'common as dirt' but I'm happy and hope to actually figure out how to use them. She showed me but it's been a while and the new home was difficult even with her help.
