Found a great source, Stitches in Time. They are in Lake City, MN, [email protected] and Cindy was so very helpful. Good luck.

It used to have more information but now it is just the basics. You could try calling Singer and get the info from them.

you do not need to totally dis-assemble that machine very much to get it cleaned up unless you are planning to a) have someone else re-assemble it or b) repaint the machine. Check out Muv & Fav's videos. http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...v-t167789.html
