Default New to collecting ??s

I have several old machines, I had found the serial numbers and were able to date them, but how do I know which model they are, if it is not on machine. For instance, I have a Singer treadle with serial #F8014464, which I have dated as 1917 but would there be a "model" for it? Also, have a Singer with serial number G0891901 but again I do not see a "model" name on it. This may be a dumb question but I am trying to learn. Thanks for any input.

I looked up on Singer Identification and found F8014464, Model 66K, 75,000 made in 1917 in Clydebank, Scotland.

G0891901, Model 128, 25,000 made in 1924. Hope this helps.

http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...-database.html

This should help. Also look at other sections of the site for more reference information.

Thank you so much for your help, just what I needed. I was able to locate the year they were manufactured but not model, now I can look a little deeper into the models I have. Some are in nice conditions, others not so much. I love the history and wish they could tell me their story, my husband loves anything mechanical and insists that I get them when affordable, so how can I refuse maybe will try to post some pics, thanks again!
