Beautiful machine! I have a weakness for any old machine but the dedicated hand crank machines like that are just neat! I hope to find (at least) one of my own someday.

For any of you that are wondering about the German New Home pictured above but quite a while ago, that's a re-badged Anker RZ made in the 1950s. I have the Free-Westinghouse version.

Does anyone know how I can access the underside of this machine? I can lower it into the cabinet....it lowers backwards, face-up, into the cabinet but I can't seem to figure out how to get at the bottom or to remove it from the cabinet.

ETA...The front of the machine seems as if it would lift up but there is something (a latch?) preventing it from being lifted and I can't find anywhere that it could be released.

Glad you figured it out - that type of release is common on a lot of non-singer machines. Many are in cabinet that the machine and frame tips back - and without a latch on the front end - the machine would tip out of the frame.

THANK you SO much! I've been searching for info about my machine for months! Just yesterday decided on the model number (letters), but had no idea where the serial was! Hoping to find a bobbin and bobbin case so I can put it back in use.
