Default Featherweight Cabinet #68

I am so excited! I found a Featherweight cabinet on ebay at a location in Illinois. The gentleman really wanted someone who would be willing to pick it up because he was concerned about shipping it. Although I live in Kentucky, my husband had planned a trip right through Galesburg, IL, where the cabinet was located.

Hubby called last night and had picked it up for me! He flew to MO to take his mom to visit some relatives, so it won't come home with him on Sunday, but I can handle that just knowing that little jewel will be mine. I NEVER thought I would actually own one of these. I have the folding card table for my Featherweights, but have always lusted for one of the cabinets.

We're not supposed to go back to visit in MO until Christmas, but I'm thinking fall might be a nice time to visit Missouri realtives again!

I know she needs some veneer repair on the lower legs, so I'll have time to do some research and find someone to fix her up for me.

Tried to post a picture, but it won't work for me today.

A Very Happy Quilter in Kentucky!

Many years ago my quilt guild had one of these in the boutique and they were taking bids. I thought they it was such a cute table but did not own a FW at the time. Looking at what these are going for now, I wish I had bid on it. I do wonder if you can actually sit at it and sew because I seem to remember that this table was low.

Congratulations!! These are hard to find. I bought one at an estate sale last fall and have never regretted getting it. I had to be #1 so I got there early with a warm blanket and hot tea. It is perfect for sewing with my FW and there is plenty of room for your legs. You flip up the shelf that the FW sits on for storage and it locks into place with a couple of pressure points. Then, just pull it back down when you're finished sewing. I'm so excited for you.......
