I'm going to make all my vintage machines jealous. But I knew if I didn't do this now, I'd probably never be in a situation to do it again, financially. . .

I'm getting another brand new machine - a HandiQuilter Fusion. But I do plan on making money with it at some point in time - not until I get more practice LOL!! I didn't get the computer controller for it, that is just too far out of my comfort zone! I asked the salesman if he had any pictures of what it looked like inside - he said no one has ever asked that. I guess that's the vintage machine lover in me - I want to see how it works!

The Sewing shop did have a nice treadle 29k59 set up and in working order. My DH was looking it over, but his is an earlier version. I'm really looking forward to having the industrial up and running when we have them in the Machine Shed.

I still love my vintage machines, and we're still working on a nice home for them.

Don't listen to them. Do what you enjoy. And if you can make a little extra money with it so much the better. Besides, every machine we own was new at some time.

Good for you! I felt the same way when I bought my embroidery machines. I knew I might not get the chance again so I went for it.

Thanks, she’s thrilled. It’s her first new car, as in “sedan”. We’ve been pickup truck people all along, with a Jeep and a couple of vans thrown in. And the nice thing about it is the “pass-through” rear seat. She hauled two 6-foot tables in the trunk, with the trunk lid closed, to the Arts & Crafts Show a couple of weeks ago. I can see lots of sewing machines being hauled in it, and have hauled one head in it already.

Macybaby’s 12-foot HandiQuilter Fusion Frame may be a tight fit for it, unless I dropped the passenger window for one end and left the trunk lid open on the other, but we could probably get it in there some way.

Of course, you could always tie it up on top, I suppose.....but I’ll miss being able to tie down to a trailer hitch.....

That is a nice looking car - but I do think my table won't fit once assembled. Its 12' 6" long. Going to be tight fit even in the dining room LOL!! My current frame is just under 12'.

This machine is mostly metal, and quite basic with the only main electronics being the stitch control and the needle up/down. Even the tension looks more like the old Singer style (no numbers, just turn it until it's "right").

I do have a vintage machine that is in transit from Arizona - I'm very excited about this one, but don't want to post until it shows up. Got it off eBay from a "0" seller, so who knows what it's going to be like once it shows up.

My husband was very supportive about this, but on the way home he was hinting about maybe I have too many vintage machines and should consider not getting more. He even hinted that maybe I could find new homes for some of them. . .

I think it's really that he does not want to build the Machine Shed. However we should rebuild that outbuilding regardless as he hits his head on the rafters when he walks through it - and he's only 6' tall. I'd want my nice work room, I've always wanted a "clean room" for finishing woodwork and such. I'm putting my dad's/grand dad's woodworking bench in there too. I got it out of my Dad's shop, and was told that when my Mom's parents sold their house, my Dad took it out of his FIL's garage.

Besides, I'd love to give sewing classes for 4H or quilt groups or whoever - and this building will be great for that. No need to bring your own machine to use, I'll have plenty to choose from. But this weekend I have ab out 5 bushels of apples to deal with. Just canning and making jam/jelly. BTW - my summer kitchen is attached to the Machine Shed, so I get to have my two favorite hobbies right next to each other.
