Very nice!! There is a Yahoo group for vintage Necchi's in case you are interested. You can get lots of info from the members and also from their files.

ETA: Here is the link to that group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/necchifiles/

Yours is pre 1950. In 1949 or 50, the V for Vittorio was dropped from the logo, so it must be an early ZZ machine. Necchi didn't keep good records, but someone on the Necchi site may have some info. How nice you have a manual. Luckily the previous owner of mine left a threading chart in the drawer because it is a little different. I like the tension disk. Mine is my go to machine this week as my 301 blew her electric connection. THe Necchi did a good job FMQ. It is a very strong, quiet machine much like my Elna.

An excellent buy!

I have that same sewing machine. A friend gave it to me. I have yet to plug it in. Thank-you for the yahoo site.

I love the Necchi sewing machines...I have 3 of them. What a great deal you got. There aren't any deals like that here in Florida.

Hi! You can also come to my Necch Yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/necchisewingmachineclub/
We're pretty active and have a lot of resources to help.

You got a wonderful machine at a mind blowing price! A BU, one of the best. She dates to about 1948-53 and was the first zz machine that came over here. We don't have exact dating on them because the factory burned down with all the records but have put together a model list with info from the SM Blue Book. And you can treadle her too, if you're so inclined. I keep hoping to see more about vintage Italian Necchis here so am very pleased you posted. Looks like her paint is in pretty good shape....some of these black one have crazed paint but yours looks pretty good. And that desk cabinet is sweet too.

I love the QB, haven't posted much yet but read it every day. One of these days I'm going to actually get back to sewing and post something.....if I'm brave enough!! In the meantime I am saving SO much stuff from QB and am awed by everyone's talents!

I learned to sew on a Necchi, it is on my wish list.

I am taking a machine repair class in Oct., so I am on the lookout for some old machines.. So far no luck:(
